Inspired

After all that 'making my blog pop' work was done I was in the mood to be even more creative. I read this tutorial from the awesome site I got my font tutorial from and it made me want to go grab my camera and take some photos.
But first, I had to go to the grocery store with my Dad.
Okay. Back from the store. As we pulled up beside the house I noticed something. Roses! There's like four or five rose bushes out there. I don't usually go around to that side of the house so I hadn't noticed the scads of blooming roses. As soon as the groceries were inside, I got my camera and started clicking away.

While I was busy shooting away, my dog, Kodi, kept me company. Then something occurred to me: I've never really done a "Kodi Photo shoot" before. What's that you say? How could an aspiring photographer not have already taken loads of photos of her amazingly awesome dog? I have no idea.

The light in the backyard was so delicious and Kodi, resting on the grass, was ready to model. All I did was lay on the ground and he did all the work. Aside from a few noises I made to get him to look at the camera, he needed no direction. I just lay there and let him do his thing. He was perfect. Kodi will definitely be doing A LOT more modeling in the future.

Oh! In case anyone is wondering...Kodi is a Pointer/Pit mix.

Pop!

Since I've popped up into the blogging world once again I've been trying to figure out how to make my blog look more original. Sure the default layouts Blogger provides work well, but i wanted something a little more innovative.

My sister has an awesome layout over on her blog so I asked if she would make me one too.  Her response:
"I didn't do it! We had our graphic designer do it for us."
She suggested I go here and get a custom blog done for cheap. The designs were amazing and, I must admit, had great prices.  But making $0.00 per hour as a Lay-About doesn't allow for frivolous spending, no matter how awesome the price.

So I got the genius idea to search for pre-maid blog layouts that were,  keyword,  FREE. True, they may not be as original as a custom-made layout, but I was sure I could find something that would make Potato Broke pop.

I found THIS site and fell in love with the layout you see before you. I even took it a step further and found THIS site to customize my post titles. I'm very happy with the outcome. Now all I need is a nifty header and I'll be set!

Music Monday: The Bird and the Bee

I am absolutely in love with music! Music can make me happy, make me cry, and even make me jump around the house pretending that I am Karen O. And I always sing along. ALWAYS. I'd like to believe that I am Karen O's long lost cousin or Freddie Mercury's unclaimed illegitimate daughter...

The songs I love the most are those with lyrics I can relate to at certain points in my life. For example: New Order's Age of Consent put all the feelings I was having about my relationship with my Mom into words. And Kate Nash's Foundations was the definition of a relationship I had with a certain boy a few years ago.

Then there are the songs that just make me feel awesome and want to rock out. Black Tongue by Yeah Yeah Yeahs or Modest Mouse's Float On do the trick.

So...I'm starting 'Music Monday'. I will be posting videos of a certain songs that relate to my life that day/week. Hope you will enjoy the music and the videos, I know i will. Rock on.

The Chorus is exactly how I am feeling about a certain boy lately.

Help, I'm Alive.

Wow! I haven't blogged for a whole year! I wish I could say it's because I have been busy but that would be a lie.
I've basically fallen into a depression. Now, after literally being alone for six months with nothing but my thoughts to keep me company, I am finally starting to crawl out. And it feels amazing. I will definitely be blogging more about this, and other things, later. But for now...it's off to sleep. I have an interview tomorrow and I need rest.
